Global Chapter of the Year – CEO

You will be proud to know that the Entrepreneurs Society has been highly successful over the past decade, in no small part due to people like you who support them. This past year was no exception, as the students won the “Global Chapter of the Year” at the national CEO conference. You may recall that The Collegiate Entrepreneurs Organization (CEO) is a network of over 250 colleges and universities and 8,000 participating students. The Global Chapter of the Year is awarded to the club that has demonstrated excellence in developing its organization and leaders while offering a meaningful entrepreneurship experience.   The Entrepreneurs Society also won the Wolverine Excellence Award for the last two years, selected as the outstanding student organization on campus.

Apple Lane Orchard Visit

We went to Apple Lane Orchard to learn about entrepreneurial side of running an orchard business. We enjoyed meeting the owner, and her associates. We were welcomed by a delicious cup of cider. During our tour, we enjoyed meeting animals, picking pumpkins, apples, flowers, corn and canned goods. A big thank you to the owner of the farm, Katie for taking the time to show us around, and share her story.

I think it’s safe to say this event was a success, thank you to everyone who was able to join us.

We highly recommend to stop by Apples Lane Orchard!

Fall 2021 Entrepreneur Tour

The Entrepreneur Tour that took place yesterday was a straight success. We got to connect and visit local businesses in Flint, hear their stories, and learn from their entrepreneurial experiences.

We would like to express appreciation to the owners of Poke Bowl, brothers Justin Bush and Jeron Dotson for sharing tips on how to land a pitch competition, and proving delicious samples. We can’t wait for @thepokebowlflint grand opening!

In the following, we had a great time visiting Dorothy’s House of Coffee and learning from Tim Goodrich about his non-profit and his inspirational story. Looking for a place to study visit @dorothyscoffee

Last, but certainly not least, we got together with the owners of The Loft Rodney Ott, and The Roman, Casey Lester.

We were impressed by the knowledge Rodney Ott shared with us and the experience of running the bar business almost for two decades. One of the top tips he shared with us on how to run a successful bar, and the key to customer satisfaction is teamwork. Mr. Ott takes pride in his loyal team of workers. As the weekend approaches, make sure to stop by @the_loft_flint

Casey Lester and his wife shared their experience in owning a men’s accessories business The Roman. We certainly took away great advice about starting a retail shop, building partnerships, and finding funding for a start-up. Check out their page to explore quality men’s accessories @theromanflint

The Entrepreneur Society greatly appreciates everyone who was able to join us in this semester tour, and we can’t wait for the next one.

A special thank you to Laci Whiting, a member of Entrepreneur Society, and her hard work that made this event possible.
